Getting started with Smart Foal

Whether you are brand new to Smart Foal or have been using it for years, we've got your setup questions covered (if we have missed anything or you want more detail on a topic please drop us a line and let us know). Any questions?

Account creation

The first thing you'll want to do is install the app on your phone and create an account.

The Smart Foal app is available from the Google Play store and Apple App store.

Once the app has installed on your phone you can tap on Sign Up and then enter your email address and hit continue. You will need to confirm your email address and set a password before you go any further.

Critical settings

After you confirm your email and create a password you should be presented with some more setup screens.

They differ slightly between Android and Apple, but it is VITAL that you click ALLOW for all features.

TIP if you don't see any screens for allowing critical alerts try uninstalling the app, reinstalling it and logging in with the credentials you created the first time.

Account setup complete

If the app installation and account creation worked properly you should now have an empty app screen.

Setup Base Station

Connect all antennae to the base station and then plug in the power.

The Power OK light should come on straight away and the WiFi ok light should blink.

Connect your Base Station

Now it's time to connect your base station to your app and account. Follow the video or let the setup wizard guide you.

Repeat this process if you have more than one base station.

Connect your Transmitters

Now that your base station is connected we'll add the transmitters.

Repeat the process for each transmitter and repeater you have.

Turn the Transmitter on

Now that your app is setup, turn on the transmitter.

The transmitters and base station each have a ON/OFF switch circle on them. Press the two circles together and wait for the blue light to turn on.

To turn the transmitter off repeat the same process but wait for the blue light to turn off.

Black Base Station

The newer base stations have their ON/OFF switch circle on the back.

Select your alarm

Now that your hardware is connected you should setup an alarm tone.

You can have a different sound for lying down alarms and the less important alarms like low battery.

Make sure alarms are NOT muted.

Repeater setup

The repeater is extremely easy to setup and use. Attach both antennae, waterproof them, plug in the power and turn the repeater on using the button on the side.

Here is a video tutorial on waterproofing the antennae.
